Hi all medgulls fans,
A ringed Hybrid Larus ridibundus x Larus melanocephalus has
been controled in Pays de la Loire region (France) on August 18th.
This bird ringed in Poland in 2007 has been
controled twice in Lithuania on May 2008.
It look like a Black Headed with a bit stronger bill.
In a flock of Larrid, it wears red darvic ring on left
tarsus with white inscription « PEL3 », métal ring on right one
(GDANSK FN 61.898).
(Information will be included in Dirk Raes website next
week)
I have to say I did not recognize it as an hybrid but as a
Black Headed (as the lithuanian observer too).
It is probably migrating down south-west
Angers-Nantes-East-Atlantic coast.
Any information has to be sent to Monika Zielinska monicz@...
Hope the bird will be controled again.
Best wishes
